# 22Slides

> Easy photography portfolio websites. 22Slides helps photographers and other creatives build a personalized online portfolio website, even with little or no web design experience.

One plan, two payment options: $10/month paid yearly or $12/month paid monthly. 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Each account can create two websites, includes a free domain name, and supports up to 1,500 images per site, though that limit is flexible. A full-service option is available for anyone who would rather have a professional design and build the site for them.

## How 22Slides differs from other website builders

22Slides does one thing: portfolio websites for photographers. It is not a general-purpose site builder with a portfolio template bolted on.

- **Image quality is the priority.** Uploaded images have their focal point detected automatically so they are never cropped awkwardly at any screen size; each image is served at the exact resolution the viewer's device supports, in next-generation formats with JPEG fallback; and the photographer can choose resampling and sharpening settings.
- **Any AI can design the site.** Alongside the built-in themes, every site can use a custom theme: one HTML file, with its CSS and JavaScript inside, that controls how everything on the site looks while 22Slides keeps supplying the content, images, forms, hosting and editor. The owner's own AI writes it, whether a chat app or a coding agent. Details under "Design with AI" below.
- **Layouts are mixed per page, not fixed per theme.** Each page on a site can use a different gallery layout, rather than one theme dictating every page.
- **Deliberately small feature set.** No business platform or marketing suite. The tooling is limited to what is needed to display work well, which keeps it simple to use and fast to load. A store or other service can be attached on a subdomain of the same domain name.
- **One plan, no tiers.** Everyone gets every feature. One account hosts two websites for the same price, so a second portfolio or a temporary site costs nothing extra.
- **No upsells or data resale.** The subscription is the whole business model; the service collects only what it needs to operate.
- **Migration-friendly.** URL redirects let a photographer move from another provider without losing indexed page URLs.
- **Independent and long-running.** 22Slides has been operating since 2012.

## Design with AI

A 22Slides site can be designed by the owner's AI of choice instead of being limited to the built-in themes. The division is simple: the AI controls how everything looks; 22Slides controls what is on the page.

- **How it works.** The owner switches their site to the Custom theme in the editor and connects an AI to it. 22Slides gives the AI a complete kit: the theme rules, the HTML of every kind of section, what the site contains, and the current theme to start from. The AI writes the theme and saves it as a draft that only the owner sees; the owner publishes it from the editor when they are happy.
- **Works with any AI.** Apps that support MCP connectors (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and others) connect directly and save their work themselves. Any other AI can be given the prompt and hand back the file to paste in.
- **Content stays in the editor.** Pages, text, images, navigation and settings are still managed in the 22Slides editor, from any device, without code. The AI can add HTML sections for content the editor has no section type for (a testimonials list, a pricing table, an embed); those start hidden until the owner shows them.
- **Nothing to host or maintain.** The theme runs on 22Slides with the same image delivery, domain, TLS, forms, password protection and support as every other site, so a one-off AI design does not turn into an ongoing technical job.
- **Start from anywhere.** A site on a built-in theme can download a description of its current design and customizations, for the AI to rebuild and build on.

## Who it is for

Photographers and other visual creatives who want a clean, fast portfolio with minimal setup. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs an online shop, client galleries with proofing and print ordering, or a large content-marketing site. Client proofing is on the roadmap but not available today.
